The JGA Swimming Academy for parents of competitive swimmers

You drive them there. You cheer them on. Now give them the coaching edge that changes everything.

The James Guy Academy gives the children of serious swimming parents access to the performance systems, technical coaching, and race psychology of Me; James Guy MBE. 6× Olympic medallist and 6× World Champion. The coaching environment that simply wasn't available when most parents were growing up in the sport..

My dad Andy was one of the keenest swimming parents of them all. He drove me to training at 5am. He stood on cold poolsides for years. And the most important thing he learned along the way was that supporting a swimmer is about knowing what to say, not always what to do. The Academy gives parents both the insight to understand what your swimmer is going through, and the elite coaching resource to give them every possible advantage.

You invest in their swimming. Here's the one thing most parents can't give them!

Swimming parents are some of the most committed people in sport. The 5am starts. The weekend galas. The entry fees, the kit, the travel. You give your child every possible support. But there's one thing most parents — even the most dedicated ones — can't provide: the elite coaching insight that turns a good competitive swimmer into an exceptional one. That's not a criticism. It's simply a gap in what's been available. Until now.

Club training gives them the sessions, but not always the depth of coaching they need

Club coaches do an exceptional job with large groups of swimmers. But the one-to-one technical depth, the individual race psychology support, and the elite performance framework your child needs to take the next step simply can't be delivered in a group session with 20 athletes in the water.

You want to support them but the line between helping and hovering is hard to find

Every swimming parent has been there! Not knowing what to say after a disappointing race, or wondering whether to push or to ease off. My Academy includes a specific module for parents built on exactly this challenge: knowing what to say, not always what to do.

Your child is putting in serious training hours! You want to make sure those hours are as productive as possible.

When a swimmer is training six days a week, every edge matters. The Academy gives them the technical insight, mental tools, and performance knowledge that makes every session more effective not just more frequent.

The mental side of competition is the hardest thing to coach and the most overlooked!

Race-day nerves, confidence behind the blocks, managing a disappointing swim — these are the moments that define a young swimmer's experience of the sport. The Academy's race psychology content gives your child the mental tools to perform when the pressure is highest.

Give your swimmer the coaching edge their club training alone can't provide.

Founding member places are open now. Join the James Guy Academy and give your child access to the performance systems of a 6× Olympic medallist — from day one.

Eight modules. Everything your swimmer needs to perform at their best and everything you need to support them properly.

  • Support Their Journey! Built for parents!

A module built specifically around the parent's role in a swimmer's career. James draws on his own experience his dad Andy was one of swimming's keenest parents to help parents understand how to provide the right support, the right encouragement, and the right perspective. How to handle the car ride home after a tough race. What to say after a disappointment. And how to help your swimmer thrive in and out of the pool.

  • Think Like a Champion

The mental performance tools James used across three Olympic Games, now available for your child. Managing race-day nerves, building real confidence behind the blocks, executing a race plan under pressure. Mental toughness isn't something you're born with it's a skill you train. This module teaches your swimmer exactly how.

  • Master Every Stroke

Exclusive stroke analysis from me (James Guy MBE). The technical details that separate good swimmers from great ones, how elite swimmers generate speed, maintain efficiency, and execute race plans. Your child learns what Olympic and World Championship medallists actually do, and how to apply those details to their own swimming.

  • Fuel for Performance

Nutrition is one of the most overlooked tools in junior swimming. This module gives your swimmer (and you as the person often managing their meals and race-day food) practical strategies for pre-race nutrition, hydration, daily eating habits, and fuelling that makes a real difference to training and competition performance.

  • Recover Smarter

Recovery is where improvement happens. Your swimmer learns how elite athletes manage fatigue, monitor recovery, and ensure they're ready to perform their best day after day, essential knowledge for any young athlete training at a serious volume.

  • Perform When It Matters Most
Race-day routines, warm-up strategies, peaking at the right time, and the practical race-day details that help your swimmer arrive behind the blocks feeling calm, confident, and ready. The complete race-day preparation system of a six-time Olympic medallist, available to your child from day one.

  • Create a Clear Path Forward

Structured goal-setting for competitive swimmers, from immediate targets through to long-term ambitions. Whether your child's sights are set on county, regional, or national success, this module helps them build a clear, realistic roadmap to get there. Understanding strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and creating a path forward with purpose.

  • 1-2-1 Feedback and live sessions with James live access

Your child gets direct access to Me a 6× Olympic medallist actively involved in the Academy community. Regular live sessions, 1-2-1 feedback, and the ability to ask Me questions directly. The most valuable coaching access available to any competitive junior swimmer anywhere in the world right now!
